Vishakha Mahila Shiksha Evam Shoudh Samiti was established in 1991 with the vision to re-establish women’s identity as individuals in their own right and to work towards their individual and collective empowerment. They were a key litigant in the Public Interest Litigation that led to the issuance of Guidelines for Prevention of Sexual harassment at the Workplace in 1997, popularly known as the Vishakha Guidelines.
